Atiku holds secret meeting with Odigie-Oyegun

Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, yesterday, paid a surprise visit to the Abuja national headquarters of the All Progressives Congress (APC).Atiku, who arrived the party secretariat at about 12.30pm, was accompanied by the Adamawa State governor, Alhaji Muhammad Bindow Jibrila, and a retinue of aides and security personnel.

Thereafter, he was ushered into the office of the party’s national chairman, John Oyegun, where he met with some members of the National Working Committee (NWC) for about 20 minutes behind closed doors.

Though Atiku, who made an unsuccessful bid for the presidency in the 2015 poll, declined to speak to reporters at the end of the parley, it is believed issues relating to running of the party and the need to raise funds may have been discussed.

The APC has faced difficulties finding money to upset it’s deluge of debts that include cost of adverts placed in major media outlets, due to internal squabbles among its chieftains, coupled with President Muhammadu Buhari’s stance against reckless spending.
