  Madami Garba Madami, a member representing Chikun Constituency in the Kaduna House of Assembly under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has died, Daily Trust reports. He died on Saturday morning at a hospital where he was receiving treatment. Recall that the 10th State Assembly members were inaugurated on June 13, 2023, and the late member was unable to participate due to his illness. Mr Dele Alake, a presidential spokesman, disclosed this on Monday at the end of the signing at the Presidential Villa, Abuja. Alake said the bill would boost the educational pursuit of the youths across the country, adding that to enjoy the facility, students must show evidence of being indigent. He said that a committee drawn from all the relevant education stakeholders would be set up to handle the process of an efficient disbursement of the loans. Alake said that a percentage of the revenue of the Federation would be used to finance the new initiative.   National Industrial Court in Abuja has stopped the planned strike by the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) over the fuel subsidy removal. Justice Olufunke Anuwe on Monday restrained the NLC and all its affiliates from further embarking on the strike planned for June 7 until the hearing and determination of the main suit. The court further ordered the service of the originating summons and motion on notice on the NLC against the next adjourned date of June 19.
