SEYI BONIMO is one of the new lad in the Yoruba movie industry, we recently interview this handsome young actor and here are some of what he says about his career and how he started acting and what print him into acting as a young guy.
Can we meet you?
Am seyi bonimo by name, we are 4 in the family 2boys and 2girls,and am the second child in the family, but unfortunately am now the first born of the family when death took my elder brother away from us.
I have been in the industry since 2002. I have passion for acting since my teenage and finally met yomi fash lanso and shola akintunde Lagata who helped me and prompt me into acting, already I like the way they arts on screen, and i promise to be like them one day and here i am under the leadership of one of the actors i jave passion watching while growing up.
What was your first experience like facing the camera?
Hmmmm........ My first experience facing camera on set was superb because I was trained with stage performance then and for you to be a good actor you must be train with stage, though, am not saying am a good actor yet but i leave God to judge that and to all my fans as well.
How did your parent react to your choice of work when u told them you wanted to become an actor?
Hmmm my mum understand my job more than my dad, although i have explained a lot about my acting career to her and she give me her full support and pray for me aswell and I believe her prayers keep me moving.
But as for my dad didn't movie talkless of his own son will become an actor, because he's an office man and he want his son to work in office too, that is his decision, but God's plan for me is to become an actor.
As an actor that is, handsome and cute, how do you relate with your female fans?
I do appreciate all my female fans,I relate with them like we are like brother and sister. So I have good relationship with my fans both female and male?
Some people's notion is that actors and actress used to sleep with each other both in location and outside, what did you have to say on such notion?
Hmmmm about the allegations of actors and actress sleeping with eachother, hmmmmm, that is a big lie, you can't be outside of your house and judge what's on inside your house,that's what I can say about that.
Let those people who is faking such rumour get closer and draw there conclusion from inside not staying outside or stay on the fence to judge what is happening in the industry.
We learnt some actors won't even collect a script from you without you paying millions. So what is your charges rate per movie?
That was then whenyou can produce your movie and expect enough profits. But now the issue of piracy has affect the amount you spend on production, piracy is killing the industry seriously,so why should I charge such huge amount, and apart from acting,i am also a crew member of so many production. I am also a production manager, so I can act in a movie and also work as a production manager.
What are your advice for people that wanted to be an actor but doesn't have the opportunity?
My advice for those that wanted to become an actor is that, there are many opportunity to grab for them, they can enroll into a school of acting that's where they can be well trained,and fully become a professional actor in the future,
like me I have a school of acting where you can discovered your talent as an actor and other production work that is attached to movie production like make up artist, production manager, cameraman etc.
Have you produced any movie of your before?
I have not produced any movie yet, because I was busy going to locations, you know been a production manager you will need to submit yourself to the producer to work hand in hand effectively for the success of the job, but presently, i am working on a movie project of mine that will be shot next month by God grace......
Are you into any relationship at the moment?
Yes, but it's personal, I don't want to discuss about it.
