Breaking: Price of Petrol Reduces
– A fillings station in Calabar has reduced its petrol price
– The station said it was a way of giving back to the community
– Petrol consumers in the area are delighted and applauded the move
It seems the prediction of Ibe Kachikwu is coming to pass as a filling station in Cross River state is selling fuel for N139 per litre.
The minister of petroleum had said during the removal of fuel subsidy that has seen the price of petrol rise to 145 that the price will later fall due to the competitiveness of the market and it seems this is already manifesting.
Southern City News reports that motorists are trooping to the station which is located at Webber Street by Mayne Avenue in the Calabar south axis due to the cheaper price.
Traffic in the area has build-up due to the high influx of motorists trying to get fuel in state station.

Southern City News reports that motorists are trooping to the station which is located at Webber Street by Mayne Avenue in the Calabar south axis due to the cheaper price.
Traffic in the area has build-up due to the high influx of motorists trying to get fuel in state station.
Amaka Uche who is a motorist expressed surprise at the cheaper price of fuel at the station and applauded the move.
He said: “This development is surprising to us. I am sure motorists did not expect this to come at this time, especially now that the economy is down. We commend the management of the filing station for this.”
Mr. Kufre Archibong who is also a fuel consumer expressed delight and said it was a welcomed development.
An official at the station said it was a way of giving back to the society.
“We saw what our customers went through during that period of scarcity and we felt bad. We are to fill the gap of that suffering; that was why we made up our mind that we shall do something for the people when there is steady supply of PMS.
“In the past, you see hundreds of trucks loading from Calabar depot to be taken out of the country, but the situation has changed. We used to consume 400, 40 metric tons on a daily before the subsidy and the bulk of the product which has been subsidised found their way out of the country. The field is now level for those who genuinely need to invest. Now I am coming down to N139, another can go below.”
